I want to share with you and write about the Payoneer card, which helps me work with overseas clients. It’s a pity in our Country (Ukraine) PayPal is send only, yes, one cannot accept payments via PayPal. Wire or Western Union takes time / efforts on a sender’s side, more – wires take about a week to reach me.

E-business is moving at a fast pace, and if you can’t keep up you stay behind. It’s not a secret that delivering work results in order to get paid on completion may end up with delayed payment, slacking and even simple ignorance to pay.

So the formula where 50% is paid upfront and 50% is paid upon completion works fine but… when Western Union fees are high, when wire is delayed in an intercontinental transfer – waiting on receiving a payment may become critical, vital to the business.

There were numerous systems online that seemed helping, they provided debit card solution. As my real experience show they are okay to use occasionally, but the majority have serious restrictions like monthly incoming payment limits, withdrawal limits, card loading limits, they also have terrible support and undefined card loading time. So, in general it is hard to find a reasonably cheap debit card solution that is also a rock solid.

Since it’s freelancing, I am not talking running an offshore company or any company at all, it’s a simple freelancing, part-time or occasional work where one has to have a solution that would help working, not adding any big hassle instead.

And this is where Payoneer came into the game. I used to work in the online entertainment business, and this is how I got my Payoneer debit card.

Even now, working more and more in mainstream, it stays on the top of my service priority because now I can accept credit/debit card loads, US payment service comes in a help to receive PayPal payments.

Generally it covers most of the financials a freelancer may need.
