Last month, we had our first Amazon workshop in the Philippines – “A-Z of Amazon Selling” and we got two successful sellers to facilitate it. Today, we got to interview one of them, Jensen Go Chow, to share his Amazon experience.

Tell us a bit about the kind of business you run.

I have a dream lifestyle business- I work from anywhere with internet connection! Over the last 2 years, I have worked from Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Seoul, Surfers Paradise, Sydney, Brisbane, Cebu, Manila, Boracay, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Taipei, Bangkok, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Dubai, and Rio de Janeiro! I am doing this interview from Macau.
I source products, brand them and send them to USA to sell on Amazon handles warehousing, delivery and customer service. Totally hands off and stress-free business!

Why did you choose Amazon as your platform for cross-border sales?

Amazon has the most traffic and through it, I can reach the biggest retail market in the world- USA. I would recommend this to someone with a limited start-up capital that wants to go global.

From the financial side, it is also the best for cash flow as there is no per-item listing fee and no upfront expenses before you make a sale other than a US$39 per month seller fee. You could theoretically store 1 million items for $39 a month! As I am sure many have heard before, in business, “cash flow is king” and not having to spend on warehouse rent, retail space rent, warehouse employees and the like makes a massive difference.

What experience do you need in this line of business?

The best thing about this business model is that you do not need any specific business experience; you do not even need internet marketing experience. It can all be learnt. I built my business while studying in the university. My business partner in Paradise Consultancy built her brand with a newborn while doing a dentistry degree. It can be done around a day job and without experience. You just need a good mentor or good blueprint to work from. I am honored that Payoneer has sponsored us to share our blueprint with my community where I spend most of the year. It is a great opportunity to share blessings.

What is your next step?

As mentioned, I would like to share my learnings from this business to other aspiring entrepreneurs that is why I’m setting up this workshop named “Project Money Machine.” I have workshops in Manila 16th & 30th of September and in Cebu 23rd of September & 7th of October. This is an interactive, step-by-step and hands-on program where you will start to implement on the spot.  You will learn how to build from scratch a successful business selling your own brand (private label) with physical products on the biggest online retail platform in the world-
