Harshil Barot is an Internet entrepreneur, blogger, daydreamer, business guy, fitness freak, music lover, and digital marketing specialist. He is the owner of JustWebWorld, which helps companies to grow their online businesses. We had a chance to speak with Harshil about how small businesses should address cybersecurity and payment issues.

Tell us a little about yourself. Why did you decide to start a blog?
In my case, I wanted to start blogging because:

  1. I wanted to share my thoughts and my opinions with the public.
  2. My blog is about technology, so one of the reasons I started the blog was so I could get free products which I can review.
  3. Ultimately, it’s because I love technology and I love to write about it.

What are some of the most popular types of small businesses that individuals are starting up or creating today?
There are many types of small businesses that individuals are starting up today. Some of them include: renting out a room in a home, babysitting, blogging, affiliate marketing, freelance writing, social media expert, event DJ, exercise instructor, event coordinator, interior decorating, furniture making, personal assistant, proofreading and editing, slideshow making, public speaking, computer troubleshooting, giving music lessons, website design, wedding planner,and resume writing service.

Name one thing that all new businesses should do in order to minimize the odds of failing.
Create interest in your business. Also, stick to your strengths.

What are some of the most common cybersecurity mistakes that small businesses make?

  1. Not using strong passwords
  2. Not updating software
  3. Using the wrong approach
  4. Neglecting insider threats
  5. Not restricting user privileges, etc.

Is Bitcoin still a novelty currency, or is it becoming more widely used in certain industries or sectors?
Digital currency will soon become part of our daily lives. It will be more widely used in certain industries like healthcare, real estate, and online gaming.

Are today’s electronic payment services making it easier for people and businesses to send money across national borders and/or using different currencies?
Yes, it does make it easier. But 40% of people still don’t know about the process of online payments.

What do you foresee for the future of technology and how it will help small businesses grow and be successful?
Technology will revolutionize the nature of running a small business. Companies are doing more not only to make it easier for small businesses to find products, but also to find the right products.
