So, you recently received your Payoneer Prepaid Mastercard® after weeks of waiting. We know you’re excited to get started, but it’s important to use your card with care and keep these 5 best practices in mind to get the most out of your Payoneer card.
Do not share photos of your Payoneer card. We repeat…do NOT share photos of any credit card on social media. With hackers using various methods to get hold of consumers’ card numbers – through phishing scams, attacking databases full of card numbers, etc.- you don’t want to make it easy on them!
We recommend that you don’t not use your Payoneer card to register for free trial offers. Some companies begin charging a fee each month after the trial period and you will be responsible for these charges. To avoid potentially unwanted fees, do not sign up for free trial offers with your Payoneer card.
Before you enter your Payoneer card details to any website, make sure the site, and the brand as a whole is a trusted name. Google, Facebook, Amazon and Apple are just a few examples of trusted companies you can do business with. If you come up with a website you don’t trust, don’t enter your card details. Always look for an https encrypted connection when you are entering your financial details.
We all love the ease of withdrawing cash from an ATM, but before you do, there are two things to consider. First, your Payoneer card is accepted anywhere debit Mastercard® is accepted. This means that you can easily make purchases with the card and avoid those pesky ATM fees altogether.
That said, if you are in need of an ATM, try to make as high of a withdrawal as possible to get the best “bang for your buck” out of those ATM flat fees. Also, don’t forget to make sure you have enough funds on the card before attempting the withdrawal to avoid any decline fees from the ATM. To check your balance online, login to Payoneer.
Do not wait to report a lost/ stolen card. On a positive note, if you lose your card or it is stolen, your losses are limited to the amount on your card. You’re not stuck with a drained bank account, damaged credit or lost time recovering funds. While this is great, no one wants to lose ANY of their hard earned money.
If you believe that your Payoneer Prepaid Mastercard® has been lost or stolen, please contact Payoneer as soon as possible.
