Payoneer attends the largest startup event in Asia-Tech in Asia Singapore

Last month Team-Payoneer headed out to Singapore to attend the Annual Tech in Asia event held in Suntec City, Singapore. The Singapore chapter is the largest in a series of three events held by Startup Asia tech blog which holds similar shows in Tokyo, Japan and Jakarta, Indonesia, as well as a dozen of smaller meetups across South East Asia.

And the main event it was indeed! More than 2,000 attendees flocked to Suntec Convention & Exhibition Center to hear over 200 startups pitch to private investors, VCs, tech journalists and the press.  And as a proud sponsor, we were truly excited to hear all the latest trends in the startup world.

The event confirmed what we felt for a very long time: South East Asia is gradually becoming the next big thing in the e-commerce scene! Not a big surprise if you think about it, as it was only natural that a region which has always been one of the biggest commerce and trade centers on the planet for centuries is now make its entrance to the golden era of digital, social and mobile.

During these two days we became acquainted with tens of e-commerce and marketplace startups of all shapes and sizes.  We were dazzled by the sheer number of startups present and the enthusiasm in people’s hearts.  I can’t wait to see the next Lazada or GrabTaxi  from one of these young entrepreneurs who started with nothing but a small table at the Tech in Asia event.
