2021 Dropshipping Trends and Beyond Masterclass with Steve Tan

At Payoneer’s recent Beyond 24-hour global virtual summit for digital business, we had the privilege of hosting Steve Tan, CEO at LeapVista, for a masterclass on current dropshipping trends and where the industry is heading in 2021.

Over the course of the talk, Steve covered several useful topics, including how to improve your Facebook feedback score, checkout page optimization and how to increase your average order value. Dropshipping in 2021 and the Facebook Feedback Score

A large part of Steve’s session was devoted to the increased importance of the Facebook Feedback Score and how it’s likely to impact your business in 2021. The Feedback Score was designed to combat counterfeit sellers and limit the reach of any seller providing subpar services, including product representation, shipping and customer support.

Your feedback score is based on customer surveys sent out by Facebook, with a score above two needed to ensure your ads are seen. According to Steve, “it’s not hard to get a feedback score of above two…if you have decent support, you care about your customers, you care about your product and you care about your brand.”

To maintain a good feedback score, start by following the below guidelines:

Shipping Speed

There are a few practical steps you can take to optimize your shipping speed and ensure your customers receive their orders on time. These include:

  • Ship your products using special lines from China.
  • Ocean ship in bulk your winning products.
  • Once your products reach their destination country, use local shipping options.
  • Implement forecasting for your inventory.

Product Quality

To maintain a successful dropshipping business, it’s critical to source quality products while making sure your customers receive their purchases as advertised on your store. This can be done by:

  • Using image and video creatives that accurately represent your product.
  • Getting samples from your suppliers before you start shipping to your customers.
  • Working with inspection companies to QC your bulk orders.
  • Working with a local agent to ensure quality control.

Responsiveness

Efficient customer support should be one of the focal points of your dropshipping business. Not only does it help with your Facebook Feedback Score, it helps build brand loyalty and positive word of mouth. To ensure your store is responsive to your customers’ needs, Steve recommends:

  • Setting a 24-hour response time for enquiries.
  • Implementing live chat during peak hours.
  • Using tools like Zendesk to streamline tickets.
